INTERVIEW WITH ORLANDO
What books on your shelf are begging to be read?
The Way Of The Superior Man, Let Go Of Whatever Makes You Stop, Year Of Yes
What do you do if you can’t sleep at night?
If I can’t Sleep, I get creative/productive.
What is the strangest thing you believed as a child?
I used to wonder if we were really real, if we really existed. My mother said, “go get a safety pin and I will show you if you are real or not.”
What is one guilty pleasure you enjoy too much to give up?
Eating Ice cream and specifically McConnell’s and Haagen Dazs.
How often do you read the newspaper?
I am aware… But I stay away from the news… It’s healthier.
Are you more likely to avoid conflict or engage it head-on?
I do my best to avoid conflict by using wisdom, however, if something comes up that needs to be faced head-on… I’m right there.
Are you high maintenance?
I like nice things 🤷🏾♂️
What do you think about more than anything else?
Buying my mother a new home!
What’s something that amazes you?
When people realize their potential and overcome their shortcomings!
Do you prefer that people shoot straight with you or temper their words? Why?
I do prefer for people to be straight forward. When you’re straight forward, you’re not being someone else or saying what you think someone would like to hear… you’re coming from your authentic self. Plus it’s a waste of time to beat around the bush.
Where’s your favorite place to take an out-of-town guest?
To the top of the highest mountains and the coast – Malibu or Laguna
Do you have a catchphrase?
“You have what you say”
What’s your reaction towards people who are outspoken about their beliefs? What conditions cause you to dislike or, conversely, enjoy talking with them?
People can speak freely as they choose. We all have our individual minds. I believe we believe what we believe and just live that to the best of our ability… and we never have to or should push our beliefs on anyone – if someone ask, them you have an opportunity to share or not.
How and where do you prefer to study?
I like to study in quiet places… with headphones on listening to classical music…
What’s your all-time favorite town or city?
Basel, Switzerland. Very romantic place. You can feel the love in the air.
If you could restore one broken relationship, which would it be?
If only I could share…
Have you forgiven yourself for past personal failures?
I have learned to forgive myself – I practice daily.
How difficult is it for you to forgive someone who refuses to apologize?
I forgive people before they apologize. I practice not holding anything in my heart.
How difficult is it for you to be honest, even when your words may be hurtful or unpopular?
I have learned you gain more respect when you’re honest. Not difficult at all.
